Response
1. The total maintenance backlog cost associated with Scottish Government buildings currently stands at £6,935,340. This figure reflects overdue life cycle and maintenance forecast costs and does not include design fees or professional services related to implementation, which would be determined following a formal tender process.
A comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme is in place to proactively manage building assets. This programme incorporates both time-based and usage-based scheduling, supported by routine inspections and servicing to identify and mitigate potential issues before they escalate.
In addition, any minor reactive maintenance requirements are addressed promptly by the contracted maintenance provider, in accordance with the terms of their service agreement.
