Response
1. In AY 2024/25, HM Inspectors inspected 196 primary schools and 38 secondary (including allthrough) schools.
2. The information you have requested in relation to the grades awarded in each inspection in AY 2024/25 is provided in Annex A. The information is provided in Excel format to allow filtering as necessary. Please note that not all inspection reports for AY 2024/25 have been published yet.
3. Education Scotland does not hold the information you have requested, and therefore, we are applying the exemption under section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA). This is because Education Scotland does not receive or record complaints of abuse from pupils that have been lodged by teachers.
Notes on the data provided in Annex A
1. Data provided in Annex A was extracted at 29 July 2025.
2. The data includes local authority primary schools, secondary schools (including all-through schools) and grades for nursery classes within schools.
