Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
Since the introduction of the McCloud Sergeant online pension estimate calculators:
1. How many complaints have the SPPA received complaining that the calculators are inaccurate?
2. If there are complaints of this nature, could you tell me how many complaints were that the estimate was an over-estimate and how many were an under-estimate?
Response
The overview below shows the total number of complaints received from Remedy eligible members referring to issues with the online pension calculator since 13 September 2023 up to 10 December 2024.
This overview is divided into the 4 schemes that SPPA is administering: NHS, Teachers, Police & Fire. Furthermore each scheme is divided into “over estimated”, “under estimated” and “other”, depending on if the member has confirmed in the complaint if the calculator has either over und under inflated the figures. “Other” complaints did not mention any comparison of figures.
