Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002


Information requested

1. Between December 27, 2022 and January 3, 2023 (inclusive), please provide a daily breakdown of the data usage of the following devices, supplied by the Government to Michael Matheson.

  • 1a. Government issued laptop - while laptops do not use sim cards, they still record data usage, please provide that figure if available.
  • 1b. Government issued mobile phone.
  • 1c. Government issued tablet.
  • 1d. Government issued 'Mi-Fi' device.

2. Please also provide the data bill, including any roaming charges, for the same time period, broken down by day for each device. If this is not available, please provide the monthly bill and total monthly data usage for that period for each relevant device.

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.

1. Between December 27, 2022 and January 3, 2023 (inclusive), please provide a daily breakdown of the data usage of the following devices, supplied by the Government to Michael Matheson.

  • 1a) Government issued laptop, while laptops do not use sim cards, they still record data usage, please provide that figure if available.

Michael Matheson was in possession of a Government issued laptop between 27 December 2022 and 3 January 2023 (inclusive). Scottish Government laptops do not use a mobile number or sim card. This is a formal notice under Section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not hold the information you have requested as the Scottish Government does not hold a record of the data usage for this period.

  • 1b. Government issued mobile phone.

Michael Matheson was not in possession of a Government issued mobile phone between 27 December 2022 and 3 January 2023 (inclusive).

  • 1c. Government issued tablet.

Michael Matheson was in possession of a Government issued tablet between 27 December 2022 and 3 January 2023 (inclusive), however, the mobile number was cancelled on 15 December 2022. This is a formal notice under Section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not hold the information you have requested.

  • 1d. Government issued 'Mi-Fi' device.

Michael Matheson was in possession of a Government issued Mi-Fi device between 27 December 2022 and 3 January 2023 (inclusive). This is a formal notice under Section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not hold the information you have requested our reports show no mobile data usage for the period included in the request.

2. Please also provide the data bill, including any roaming charges, for the same time period, broken down by day for each device. If this is not available, please provide the monthly bill and total monthly data usage for that period for each relevant device.
