Information in relation to Trust Deeds, Debt Arrangement Schemes and Sequestrations: FOI release

Information requested

Information relating to the period 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2022 on:

1. The average contribution per month in a trust deed, sequestration and debt arrangement scheme made by a debtor
2. Total number of trust deeds, sequestrations (split by debtor application and creditor petition) and Debt Arrangement Scheme per trustee / company signed.
3. Average debt level per trust deed, sequestration and debt arrangement scheme
4. How many trust deeds, sequestrations and DAS have been granted / awarded with a debt level between £5,000 and £10,000 since January 2021.

The information requested for points 1 and 3 are available on our website at https://aib.gov.uk/scottish-statutory-debt-solution-statistics-2022-23-q4-tables at Time_series_cont_level (contribution level) and Time_series_debt_level (debt level) respectively.

Under section 25(1) of FOISA, I do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.

Some of the information for point 2 in respect of trust deed, sequestrations and debt arrangement scheme are also available at the above link at Time_series_td_org_1 (trust deeds granted). Time_series_ptd_org_1 (trust deeds protected, Time_seriesTime_series_ban_org_1 (bankruptcies awarded) and Time_series_ das_org_2 (debt arrangement scheme). This is therefore exempt under section 25(1) of FOISA, however, if you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy. In respect of sequestrations split by debtor application and creditor petition, this information has been provided in Table 1 of the attached spreadsheet.

The information requested for point 4 has provided in full in Table 2 of the attached spreadsheet.
