COVID-19 hospital admission statistical data: FOI release

Information requested

All Covid-19 hospitalisation data presented to the Scottish Government which distinguishes between people in hospital because of Covid-19 and people in hospital with Covid-19. Please provide all data that has been presented to the Scottish Government between the dates of the 27 December 2021 and 5 January 2022.

Response

I attach a copy of the information you requested. The email attached was received by Anita Morrison, Joint Head of Health and Social Care Analysis (HSCA), on 5 January 2022 at 22:50 and discusses audit findings regarding patients admitted to hospital "because of" or "with" COVID-19. The email was sent by an employee of Public Health Scotland.

Please note that these were preliminary figures, which were still undergoing final quality assurance and sign off from each NHS Board. Final results were published in the Public Health Scotland COVID-19 Statistical Report on 7 January 2022. Here is a link to the initial publication of the data:
