Information requested
A breakdown showing the total amount spent by the Scottish Government on car hire in each of the last five calendar years, including 2021 to today’s date”, that date being 28 December 2021.
Response
The answer to your question is shown in the table below. Scottish Government officials normally hire cars using a centralised contract. Other hires and related hire costs such as fuel are sometimes paid for through expenses or using a Government-issued procurement (credit) card. For clarity I have detailed those payment options separately in the table. The amount spent on car hire using the procurement card, for 2017 and 2018, is not held.
