Information requested
1. How much funding has Prestwick Airport received from the Scottish Government in the financial years: a) 19/20; b) 20/21; c) 21/22?
2. How much funding is the Scottish Government planning to allocate to Prestwick Airport for the financial year of 2022/23?
Response
1. Prestwick Airport has received the following funding from the Scottish Government.
- In 2019-20 Prestwick Airport received £3.5 million in loan funding to support day to day operations.
- In 2020-21 Prestwick Airport received no funding.
- In 2021-22 Prestwick Airport is expected to receive up to £846,004.17 in funding in connection with COP26 activities carried out by Prestwick Airport. While this funding will be paid to Prestwick Airport by Transport Scotland, this is ultimately funding from the UK Government.
2. The Scottish Government is not planning to allocate any funding to Prestwick Airport for the financial year 2022-23.
