Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Information requested
1) Any notification of the amount of money paid by GFG Alliance subsidiaries to its creditors linked to the Lochaber guarantee since 2016 to date. Please break this down by expected payment, received payment, and date of expected and received payment.
2) Please indicate whether any of the missed payments constitute a breach of the guarantee deal in place between the Scottish Government and GFG Alliance.
Response
1) It is not for the Scottish Government to confirm if GFG Alliance subsidiaries has paid any amount of money to its creditors – that would be for its creditors to confirm. However, the Scottish Government can confirm that no demand has been made under the Guarantee and Reimbursement Agreement with GFG Alliance.
2) There has been no call on the Lochaber guarantee and the Scottish Government. The Scottish Government will make appropriate disclosures in line with accounting standards through the publication of its annual accounts.
