Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

This request was in relation to the Job Evaluation for Senior Posts (JESP) scores for two Scottish Government Senior Civil Service (SCS) Pay Band 3 roles that were advertised recently on Civil Service Jobs.

1. Do you hold a record of a JESP score for both of the above named jobs?

2. If you do hold a JESP record for these job roles, then for each job please provide me with the total JESP score and a breakdown of the scores by JESP factors.

3. Do you hold a Scottish Government job evaluation policy for the assessment of job weight of Senior Civil Service jobs?

4. If you do not hold a record of a JESP score for the above named jobs, then do you hold a reason as to why not?

In line with Cabinet Office Senior Leadership Committee approved protocol for recruitment to Director General roles, a Job Evaluation Panel comprising members from Cabinet Office, Scottish Government and an HR Director from another government department met to agree the scores for each role.
