A breakdown of salary scales and job positions
I have provided you with all of the information you have requested regarding the breakdown of salary scales and job positions. This information can be found at Annex B.
Annex B makes reference to an Organisational Chart, which has been attached with this response.
I have applied FOISA section 38(1)(b) absolute exemption, in that this document contains personal information which is exempt for release under FOISA section 38(2)(a) as release of this information would:
- contravene section 37 of the Data Protection Act 2018 in that to process this data further would be excessive in relation to the purpose for which it is processed; and
- is exempt under Schedule 2, paragraph 16(1) as it would involve disclosing information relating to individuals who can be identified from this information.
Annual breakdown of the cost of staff salaries for the past 5 years
I have been able to provide you with some of the information which you have requested regarding the annual breakdown of the cost of staff salaries for the past 5 years. The information I am able to provide is that:
- in the financial year April 2020 to March 2021, including contractors and temporary staff, the cost of staff salaries was £3.927 million.
I am unable to provide you with some of the information you have requested regarding the annual breakdown of the cost of staff salaries for the past 5 years, as some of this information is not held. FOISA section 17, notice that information is not held, applies in this case. This is because South of Scotland Enterprise Agency did not exist prior to the financial year beginning April 2020. Full details of the information I am unable to provide and the reason for being unable to provide this information can be found at Annex A.

REASONS FOR NOT PROVIDING INFORMATION
I am unable to provide you with all of the following information you have requested:
- Annual breakdown of the cost of South of Scotland Enterprise Agency staff salaries for the past 5 years
The reason for this is that South of Scotland Enterprise Agency did not exist prior to the April 2020 to March 2021 financial year.
Under section 17 FOISA, this is a notice that the annual break down of the cost of South of Scotland Enterprise Agency staff salaries for the financial years ending March 2020, March 2019, March 2018 and March 2017 is not held.
