Information requested

"Prior to the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union it was reported that the Scottish Government was allocated nearly £200 million to make help make preparations for the end of the Transition Period.

What information do you hold on how this money has been distributed by the Devolved Scottish Government?"

Response

From 2017-2018 to the end of 2020-2021, the Scottish Government received a total of £194.8m in EU Exit preparation consequentials.

All of this funding, and more, will be fully utilised to meet EU exit preparation costs.

All Brexit consequentials have been absorbed into and deployed across the overall Scottish Budget. Prior year spend up to 2019-20 is set out below. Spend for 2020-21 will be known after the end of thefinancial year.

Funding will be continue to be deployed in future years to mitigate the ongoing impact of leaving the EU.

The total cost of the Scottish Government’s response to Brexit will exceed £194.8m of EU Exit preparation consequentials.
