1. Which supplier currently provides your outbound mail postal services? When does your contract with that supplier expire and what is the approximate annual value of that contract?
2. Do you use a hybrid mail service to send any communications out? If so, please confirm which supplier provides that service, when does the contract expire and what is the annual value of that contract?
3. Do you use a bulk print and mail service provider to print and mail any regular communications? If so, confirm which supplier provides that service, when does the contract expire and what is the annual value of that contract?
The answer to your questions are as follows:
All three of these services are provided to Social Security Scotland under the same contract with Royal Mail. The contract is called off from the Scottish Government’s Framework Agreement for Postal Services (reference SP-15-014) and is due to expire on 1st October 2021.
The annual value of this contract (which includes security screening, delivery and collection as well as hybrid and bulk mail services) is approximately £500,000. Of this amount, approximately £40,000 relates to hybrid mail services and around £330,000 relates to bulk print and post.
