COVID-19: Information regarding testing sites in Scotland: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Could you please provide the following information about all public Coronavirus testing sites in Scotland.

Is the test site on local council owned land?

Is the test site on privately owned land?

If so then who is the registered owner of the land?

Is a rent being paid and what is the amount of this to the land owner for use of the land?

Response

Attached is a list of COVID-19 test site and respective landowners at the time of your request.

For walk-through local test sites (LTS), peppercorn rent is paid. For drive-through regional test sites (RTS), rent is payable and this is set by the UK Government’s Valuation Office Agency (VOA) to determine a fair market rent value. This is based on the size of the demise an RTS occupies. The Scottish Government does not hold information on rent payable for RTSs, however, you may wish to contact the VOA at foi@voa.gov.uk who may be able to help you.
