Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

You asked for details of all contact between the Scottish Government and P&O Ferries between August 1, 2018 and July 31, 2020, including copies of all written correspondence (letters and emails); details (including time, date, participants) of any meetings between SG officials and/or ministers and P&O staff or its representatives; and details of any telephone calls (including call participants and time, date and duration of call).

Response

All of the information you have requested is available from https://www.gov.scot/publications/foi-18-02636/.

Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy. The latest communication contained in that FOI Release is dated 8 October 2018.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested for the remaining period of 8 October 2018 to 31 July 2020 covered by your request. The reason that we don’t have any information is that there has been no contact between the Scottish Government and P&O Ferries since 8 October 2018. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
