University of Glasgow gender enrolment for PGDE course: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

You asked for information on the separate numbers of male and female enrolments to the University of Glasgow's School of Education for the one year PGDE (or earlier equivalent) course across all disciplines and separate information on the numbers of males and females passing those courses for each year since 1990.

Response

Attached is a copy of most of the information you requested.

The table in the attached spreadsheet shows the number of enrolments and qualifiers on PGCE/PGDE courses from the 2000/2001 academic year to the latest data available. Due to methodology changes in HESA over the years caution should be taken in comparisons between years up to and including 2006/2007 and those after.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested prior to 2000/2001.
