Disposable and reusable cups purchased by the Scottish Government: FOI review

You requested 

“How many (a) disposable cups and (b) reusable cups were purchased by the Scottish Government in each month since January 2019, broken down by month?”

Response

Section 17(1) of FOISA covers instances where the Scottish Government does not hold information that has been requested. The information you requested on this occasion is not held by the Scottish Government, but by two service providers and our earlier response reflected that position.

Following review, and in order to provide continuity with the response to your 2017 request, we have obtained the information that you requested from those service providers.

I can confirm that from 1 January 2019 to 31 October 2020:

• 563,000 recyclable, disposable cups and
• 2148 re-usable cups. 

were purchased for use in Scottish Government buildings.
