Scottish Government stance on Housing Infrastructure Fund: FOI release

Information requested

A) How much Government funding has been given through the Housing Infrastructure Fund in grants to local authorities and Registered Social Landlords?

B) How much Government funding has been given through the Housing Infrastructure Fund in loans to non-public sector organisations?

C) How many houses have been built as a result of the Housing Infrastructure Fund?

D) How many houses have been built as a result of the Housing Infrastructure Fund that are going to be counted as part of the 50,000 affordable homes to be delivered by 2021?

Response

A) The Scottish Government has awarded £28.550m in grants to local authorities and Registered Social Landlords through the Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF).

B) The Scottish Government has awarded £13.899m in loans to non-public sector organisations through HIF.

C) 352 homes have been built as a result of HIF to date. HIF, however, acts as an enabling fund to unlock delivery of homes and the £42m total funding awarded will enable over 12,000 homes to be developed across all tenures.

D) 95 affordable homes have been built to date as a result of HIF and counted towards the 50,000 affordable homes target.
