Scottish Government budget used to address the issue of domestic abuse: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

You asked how much of the Scottish Government budget has been used to address the issue of domestic abuse broken down

a) by the percentage of the overall budget,
b) for each financial year since 2015 until 2020
c) whether this money was passed on to public bodies, third sector organisations or used for Scottish Government initiated programmes.

Response

Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with the percentage of the overall budget as we do not hold that information. However, the budget for each financial year from 2018/19 is publicly available on the Scottish Parliament website.

The budget for 2019/20 is yet to published and will be released in due course.

Some of the information you have requested regarding a breakdown for each financial year, specifically from 2017-2020, is available from the Scottish Government Website.

However, please also see the documents attached to this email which give further breakdown for budgets, including the 2015/16 financial year, which have not been published publicly.

All of the funds that I have provided information on have been given to public bodies, third sector organisations and for Scottish Government initiated programmes.
