Learning Estate Investment Programme criteria and applications: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

a) When will applications open to local authorities for phase 2 of the Scottish Government's Learning Estate Investment Programme?
b) When will the criteria for phase 2 of the Scottish Government's Learning Estate Investment Programme be made available? (If the criteria has been published, please enclose a copy of it.)

Response

a) The Scottish Government are continuing to work with COSLA and local authorities on the strategic approach for managing each council's learning estate and to consider the projects local authorities will put forward for Scottish Government support within the second phase of the Learning Estate
Investment Programme. A date has yet to be agreed of when the Scottish Government will write to local authorities requesting priority projects for consideration, however I can confirm that a second phase of projects will be announced by September 2020.
b) The criteria for the second phase of the Learning Estate Investment Programme are currently being finalised with COSLA and will be communicated to local authorities when complete. The Scottish Government therefore does not hold the information you have asked for.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

Consistent with the principles of the Learning Estate Strategy, Scottish Ministers are seeking to invest in projects which connect people, places and learning, deliver improved outcomes for all, and enable sustainable and inclusive economic growth. I have included a link below to the Scottish Government's
Learning Estate Strategy, which contains the principles on which the criteria will be based:
