The ICT spend information contained within this FOISA response has been extracted from the Scottish Procurement Information Hub which is a tool to assist public sector
organisations to analyse their spend profile. All suppliers have been allocated to one spend category only where in reality, they may supply products and services that cover multiple categories. These limitations should be borne in mind when interpreting this response. The updated ICT spend information covers the period 2017/18 as this is the latest year we have full information on.The data is based on core trade spend which is spend with suppliers that have been classed as commercial organisations or as non-trade social care providers and with whom individual public bodies have spent over £1000 in aggregate in a 12 month period. The data is based on the vCode supplier taxonomy developed by the provider of the Scottish Procurement Information Hub. The information is provided where vCode vendor category is known.
The Scottish Government IT Salary Information has been provided by our Corporate
Analytical Services team and covers the period 2017/18 and 2018/19. Please note that IT/digital staff are not all concentrated in one single division and the figures in the Annex cover all IT staff in core Scottish Government- including Information & Technology Services Division, Agriculture & Rural Environment IT Services Division, Digital Directorate, and Social Security Chief Digital Officer Division.
