School and nursery inspections frequency and reports: FOI release

The reports I’m interested in are for the following Primary schools:

• Roseburn
• Sciennes
• Bruntsfield
• James Gillespie's
• South Morningside
• Craiglockhart
• Dean Park

and the following Secondary schools:

• Craigmount High School
• Boroughmuir High School
• James Gillespie's High School

If you could also send the report for Early Days Nursery (Palmerston Place), that would be great.
Can you confirm how often schools / nurseries are inspected as I was surprised some schools had not been inspected for more than 5 years.

Early Days Nursery (Palmerston Place)	This is a formal notification under section 17 that we do not hold anything on this establishment in our records. You may be able to get further information on this private nursery from the Care Inspectorate.

With regards to your question on how often schools are inspected, it may be helpful if we explain the approach to inspection in Scotland.  Our inspection of education establishments (early learning and childcare, primary, secondary and special schools) in Scotland is on a proportionate basis using a sampling based approach, it is not on an annual or cyclical basis.  More information on the approach we use can be obtained on our website at:
