Number of inspectors employed by Education Scotland since 2007: FOI release

The number of inspectors employed by Education Scotland in each year since 2007. Ideally, if this information could be calendar year up to and including 2018, that would be great. However, if the data is only collected in financial years, that would be fine.

Please note that as from 1 July 2011 a new Scottish Government executive agency, Education Scotland, took over the responsibilities of HM Inspectorate of Education. The information you have requested therefore starts in calendar year 2011.

The number of HM Inspectors employed at 31st December in each of the calendar years concerned was as follows:

2011 – 72
2012 – 60
2013 – 62
2014 – 73
2015 – 64
2016 – 68
2017 – 74
2018 – 84
