Information requested

The following broken down by undergraduate and postgraduate award from 2011 to 2017:

1. The number of Scottish domiciled students, who would have been entitled to free University tuition at a Scottish University, who have been loaned money to pay for tuition fees to attend an English, Welsh or Northern Irish University. Please also supply the total funding loaned (see table 1);

2. The breakdown of the information requested in 1. above by country (ie England, Wales and Northern Ireland; (see table 1);

3. How many of the students noted in 1. and 2. above applied to undertake a course at a Scottish University (data not held by SAAS).

Response

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested in an Excel spreadsheet. As we operate in academic years, I have included data for academic years 2011-2012 to 2016-2017.

Please note that we do not hold information relating to your third query. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
