External Review of ASH Scotland 2014
Findings from a review which was commissioned to examine and assess ASH Scotland’s performance in providing value for money in relation to the grant funding provided by the Scottish Government. It was carried out between April and June 2014.
We would like to thank the many different stakeholders of ASH Scotland who took part in this review, including members of Scottish Coalition on Tobacco, Members of the Scottish Parliament, the Scottish Tobacco Control Alliance, and representatives from the voluntary sector, national and local government and NHS Scotland for their contribution to this review. We also thank the chief executives of Alcohol Focus Scotland, the Scottish Drugs Forum, ASH in London and ASH in Cardiff, for providing information to assist the light touch comparison exercise.
We would like to thank the staff and senior managers of ASH Scotland and representatives of current and former members of its Board who gave their time generously. In particular thanks are due to Valerie Smith for her efficient help in setting up meetings and providing documents.
Finally, we would like to thank the members of the review advisory group for their comments on the work in progress and on an earlier draft of this report, and our project managers at the Scottish Government, Fiona MacDonald and Siobhan Mackay, for their support throughout the review.
