Exploring qualitative outcomes to support progress towards keeping the promise
A report by the Qualitative sub-group of the Promise Data and Evidence Group, summarising findings from work to develop outcomes for the relevant Vision Statements that could be indicated in qualitative data.
1. Introduction
The Promise Data and Evidence group (DEG) brings together analysts from across sectors and organisations to review the data and evidence landscape, identify activities to improve data infrastructure, and support research priorities that enhance understanding of progress. The DEG’s work supports the development of the Promise Story of Progress.
Sub-group two of the DEG seeks to identify how qualitative evidence can improve our understanding of progress towards keeping the promise and ensure that the views of children, families, care experienced adults, care providers and professionals are heard, as well as reviewing whether there are any gaps in available qualitative evidence. The sub-group is chaired by The Promise Scotland and includes members from Scottish Government and COSLA.
This report summarises findings from the sub-group’s work to develop outcomes for the relevant Vision Statements that could be indicated in qualitative data. These qualitative outcomes can be used to articulate what data we need to understand how change is being experienced as a result of the promise, and whether we are currently able to access that.
