Written record of fisheries consultations between the United Kingdom and the European Union for 2026.
Electronic exchange of data
a) The Delegations noted that since 2021 the Parties have shared data collected for management and control purposes in line with the Parties’ respective legislation and Article 507 of the TCA.
b) The Delegations agreed to continue developing suitable arrangements under the SCF for the bilateral exchange of data for management and control purposes based on the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and electronic business (UN/CEFACT) Fisheries Language for Universal Exchange (FLUX) domains. The Delegations noted the significant progress made at technical level during 2025 and agreed to continue this work with a view to adopting the arrangements under the SCF in 2026.
c) The Delegations further noted that the EU was transitioning to an updated version of FLUX (v3), and the Delegations agreed to continued discussions in 2026 to enable bilateral data exchange using FLUX v3. Further, the Delegations agreed that to ensure effective control of vessels in line with Article 496 of the TCA and to ensure continued dataflow the transition will be implemented gradually.
