Contract (Formation and Remedies) (Scotland) Bill: equality impact assessment

The policy will impact parties who enter into a contract. The Bill restates and reforms aspects of the law of formation of contract and three aspects of the law of remedies for breach of contract. The overall policy aim is to produce rules that are clear, certain and accessible as possible.

Parties to a contract can come from any group or community of people and so this legislation has the potential to impact on any person buying or selling goods or services, either in an individual personal capacity, in the course of business or some other capacity.
