1. As defined in section 235(1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973: "Land includes land covered with water and any interest right or servitude in or over land."
2. The Crichel Down Rules apply to land which was acquired by, or under a threat of, compulsion by government departments. Any surplus property is to be initially offered to the former owner at open market value in advance of open marketing. 3. Special Value - an amount above the market value that reflects particular attributes of an asset that are only of value to a special purchaser
