Analysis of the consultation Fruit and Vegetables Aid Scheme in Scotland: call for input - helping to contribute to the longevity of, and certainty around, the scheme.


Executive Summary

A public consultation on Scotland’s Fruit and Vegetables Aid Scheme was held between 23 June and 14 September 2025. The consultation sought views on specific aspects of the appropriate regulations where the Scottish Government have identified that there is scope to make amendments, through targeted reforms, which would help contribute to the longevity of, and certainty around, the scheme. It also asked for more general views which would help inform the Scottish Government in relation to the future development of the scheme and which will form the basis of any future consultation.

In total, 18 legitimate consultation responses were received, with 3 from individuals and 15 from organisations. Among organisations, 3 are active Scottish Producer Organisations (PO’s) who have detailed knowledge of the current scheme and able to provide first hand experiences within their views and proposals.

One response was discounted from the analysis due to the respondent using a fraudulent identity.

All information has been gratefully received and will help contribute to longevity of, and certainty around, the scheme.
