Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and general prohibition
Particular arrangements in place for Fetlar to Haroldswick MPA
As set out in licence conditions a general prohibition is in place to prohibit wrasse fishing activity in the Fetlar to Haroldswick MPA.
However, a limited number (less than 3 but we unable to confirm exact numbers due to the risk of identification) of vessels are authorised to fish for wrasse in the site subject to the following conditions (paragraph 27, Annex A, of the derogation document for relevant vessel/s):
27. Subject to the following conditions, this derogation authorises wrasse fishing activity in the Fetlar to Haroldswick MPA:
i. The vessel to which the derogation relates has a fully functional vessel tracking device installed onboard at all times and the data is made available to the Scottish Ministers;
ii. Wrasse fishing activity within the Fetlar to Haroldswick MPA only takes place in the blue hatched areas shown on the Map in Annex C;
iii. The vessel to which this derogation relates must not transit the green hatched areas shown on the map in Annex C at speeds of less than 4 knots.

As set out in licence conditions a general prohibition is in place to prohibit wrasse fishing activity in the Wyre and Rousay Sounds MPA.
However, a limited number (less than 3 but we unable to confirm exact numbers due to the risk of identification) of vessels are authorised to fish for wrasse in the site subject to the following conditions (paragraph 27, Annex A, of the derogation document for relevant vessel/s):
27. Subject to the following conditions, this derogation authorises wrasse fishing activity in the Wyre and Rousay Sounds MPA:
