Cattle and sheep numbers across Scotland in December 2024
The Cattle Tracing System provides cattle numbers in Scotland to the Agricultural Census team as of 1 December 2024.
July 2025: updated to include accompanying spreadsheet on numbers of sheep and goats as of 1 December 2024 from identified keepers across Scotland. The methodology for the December 2024 sheep estimates can be accessed on the Defra website. The Annual Sheep and Goat Inventory collects numbers of sheep and goats as of 1 December from all identified keepers across Scotland
