LGBTQI+ funding and partners

We work with a wide range of third sector organisations to promote equality of opportunity and inclusion for LGBTQI+ people and to ensure that the voices of those with lived experience can help to improve outcomes for LGBTQI+ communities across Scotland. These organisations include:

Funding

Funding of over £3 million through the Equality and Human Rights Fund has been provided to organisations working to promote LGBTQI+ equality in Scotland over 2021 to 2024.

Funding was also provided through the Equality and Human Rights Fund to LGBTQI+ organisations  in Scotland between 2017 and 2021.

Across the fund, LGBTQI+ historically got £2,671,400, which was 12% of the fund across eight organisations. This round will see funding rise to £3,454,290, which is 14% across five organisations which include Stonewall, LGBT Youth Scotland and the Equality Network.

This fund provides support for a range of initiatives, including work to support ending conversion practices through legislative and non-legislative (supportive) measures, advancing non-binary equality, supporting policy development for LGBTQI+ people, research into the lives of LGBTQI+ people and an LGBTQI+ helpline.

The Equality and Human Rights Fund is managed through Inspiring Scotland.

Equality and Human Rights Fund

The Equality and Human Rights Fund (EHRF) supports work which advances human rights, promotes equality and tackles discrimination around age, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability and race.

Through EHRF we provide funding for LGBTQI+ organisations to help improve the lives of LGBTQI+ communities in Scotland, increase access to services and promote equality.
