United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) Strategic Implementation Board

Overview

The overall aim of the UNCRC Strategic Implementation Board is to provide strategic oversight of a comprehensive and joined-up programme to implement the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). This will work to ensure children’s rights in Scotland are respected, protected and fulfilled.

The membership of the UNCRC Strategic Implementation Board will represent the views of both duty bearers and rights holders. It will also ensure that the implementation programme takes a rights-respecting approach, and that the wider governance structure established to oversee delivery of the programme supports proportionate, effective, balanced and transparent decision making. The Board will support links being made with other relevant activity across Scottish Government and beyond.
