Director-General Corporate
Miriam Craven was appointed Director-General Corporate in March 2026.
Responsibilities
The Director-General Corporate is responsible for organisational improvements.
This includes people and capability, staff engagement, ministerial support, communications, digital, legal services, facilities and estates, financial management, commercial and procurement functions.
The Director-General Corporate is a member of the Scottish Government's Corporate Governance Board.
Biography
Miriam previously served as DG Communities from September 2025 to March 2026. She has held several other senior roles in government, including Chief Operating Officer for Social Security Scotland - overseeing the organisation’s operational performance, Director for Ukraine Resettlement, and a key role in establishing Social Security Scotland.
