Chief People Officer
Fiona Hogg was appointed to the post of Chief People Officer in May 2023.
The Chief People Officer provides senior people expertise across government, as well as identifying opportunities to align our people priorities and resources across the Health Workforce Directorate and health boards for the benefit of our NHS Scotland colleagues and patients.
The role is also responsible for collaborating with and championing both the NHS Scotland People professionals and the work of the directorate, building a common purpose, shared goals and productive working relationships.
As an externally-focused role, it is central in building networks and identifying opportunities to collaborate across the wider health and social care system and beyond.
Fiona joined the Scottish Government from NHS Highland, where she had been Director of People and Culture since July 2019. Prior to joining the NHS, she worked for 20 years across a range of leadership, change and people roles in the financial services and pharmaceutical research and development sectors.
Fiona is married with two sons and two dogs and lives in Crieff. She gained her BA(Hons) in Human Resource Management at Stirling University in 1998 and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.
