Alison Taylor

Alison Taylor has been Interim Director of Learning since October 2025.

Alison was previously the Deputy Director for Improvement, Attainment and Wellbeing within Learning Directorate in the Scottish Government, having taken up that role in March 2021.

After joining the Scottish Government in 2003, from the private sector, Alison worked in a variety of policy roles before joining the Health and Social Care Directorates in 2008.

Until September 2020 she was the Deputy Director for Health and Social Care Integration, and between September 2020 and March 2021 she led the team that supported the Independent Review of Adult Social Chair chaired by Derek Feeley.
