PREVENT1 Return

PREVENT1 is the data collection to monitor housing options / homelessness prevention in Scotland.

From 1 April 2026, the collection will comprise of an aggregate return from each local authority, gathering a reduced set of data for key headline measures only. This is an interim arrangement ahead of enhanced data collection to report against new duties introduced by the Housing (Scotland) Act.

Case level data up to 31 March 2026 should still be submitted to Scottish Government.
