Information request and response under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.
Information requested
I would like to request (if possible) fishing VMS data for all of the ICES rectangles in Scotland for the period of Jan 2020 – Dec 2020 (inclusive). Please could speed and nationality information be included as a minimum. Any other vessel information you could provide would be much appreciated.
My colleague phoned to speak to you to discuss your request further on 6 October 2022 at 15:20 BST, but you were not available and so they spoke to one of your colleagues instead. Your colleague clarified that the request is for point data with latitude, longitude, nationality, speed, course, and nationality.
Response
All of the information you requested has been provided as a CSV file that is too large to send via our email system. As such I will be separately emailing you an invitation to a shared Workspace in an online storage facility called “Objective Connect.” This online storage facility is now the Scottish Government preferred way to share large and/or numerous files. To access the document released to you via Objective Connect you will need to click on the link provided in my accompanying email. In order to access the shared Workspace files you will need to enter your email address and a password of your choice. You will then be able to enter the Workspace and click on the document saved within it to download the CSV file.
