Victim Surcharge Fund: information

Information about the Fund for organisations that provide support to victims of crime.

The Regulations establishing the victim surcharge, and the Victim Surcharge Fund, were passed in November 2019. Since the Regulations were passed, anyone that has received a court fine has incurred an additional victim surcharge, which has been collected by The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service, and transferred to the Scottish Consolidated Fund as the Victim Surcharge Fund.

We published guidance setting out how the Fund will operate in May 2020

As sufficient money has accumulated into the Victim Surcharge Fund, it is now open to applications from organisations that provide support to victims of crime.  Applications to the Fund should be submitted to the Scottish Government by 12 February 2021.

Application Forms can be requested by emailing Pamela Stott VictimSurchargefund@gov.scot.
