Scottish Green Party Independence - For People. For Planet paper: FOI release

Under FOI laws can you release all correspondence, and any information you have about the Scottish Green party's "Independence - For People. For Planet" paper launched on Monday 7 November 2022.

Can you say if any Scottish Government official was involved in the production of this paper and if so what their involvement was and how much it cost?

In relation to the first part of your request, following a search of our records, 4 items of correspondence are enclosed at Annex A.

An exemption under section s.38(1)(b) of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested because it is the personal data of a third party, i.e. names and contact details of individuals, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.

Turning to your second question, the Scottish Government had no involvement in the production, distribution or funding of the publication “Independence - For People. For Planet.”. The Scottish Government understands this work is an initiative taken forward solely by the Scottish Green Party. Any questions, concerns or comments which you may have about this publication should be addressed directly to the Scottish Green Party.
