Queen of Sweden Historic Marine Protected Area Order 2025
Scottish Ministerial Order creating protection around historic shipwreck in Shetland waters.
This Scottish Ministerial Order creates a 'Historic Marine Protected Area' around the wreck of an 18th century Swedish ship, the Drottningen af Swerige (Queen of Sweden). It takes effect on 1 November 2025.
The Order is made under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010, which gives Scottish Ministers power to protect important marine heritage sites.
It follows a public consultation.
