Public appointment: Members appointed to the Scottish Enterprise Board

The Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Gaelic, Kate Forbes MSP, today announced the appointment of  Jacqui Gale MBE; Luke Logan; Cameron Murray; Stuart Patrick CBE and Greig Rooney as Members of the Board of Scottish Enterprise.

Scottish Enterprise Chair, Professor Sir Jim McDonald GBE, said:

Members

Jacqui Gale MBE is an experienced Chair and Non-Executive Director with over 40 years of leadership across global consumer, luxury, healthcare, and tech-enabled businesses. She is the former CEO of brands including Crabtree and Evelyn, Arran Sense of Scotland, and Wax Lyrical/Portmeirion Group plc and has led large scale transformation, international expansion, and digital growth. She currently chairs MySense.ai, and Wendy Morrison Design, is a Non-Executive Director of Reframe, and is a GlobalScot. She was awarded the MBE in 2021.

Luke Logan has almost 40 years experience of industrial and technology experience covering the aerospace, defence, power and industrial sectors. He has led programmes and processes at Rolls Royce, BAE Systems and Weir Group. He now has a portfolio of advisory and consultancy roles spanning tech start-ups, SMS’s and established primes. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering and Board Member at Enginuity, a UK engineering and manufacturing skills charity.

Cameron Murray is an experienced Board Trustee and senior-level property executive, with current non-exec experience working with national conservation and educational charities, as both a main Board Trustee and the Chair of the Project Oversight Committee. He has managed teams over for 30 years in the investment industry. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor, having worked in financial services, running large property investment portfolios on behalf of institutions. In his current role within a regulated financial institution, he provides leadership, risk management oversight and strategic direction across the mandates.

Stuart Patrick CBE has been a leading figure in the Glasgow Business Community for three decades. A chartered accountant with an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, he specialises in Urban Economic Development and has, since 2009, been Chief Executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. Under his leadership The Chamber has expanded its international trade work, especially in Asia, explored opportunities in the circular economy, and substantially increased its support for work experience for the young. He is a founding member of the Glasgow Economic Leadership Board, a Board Member of The Connected Places Catapult and Clyde Gateway URC and a Member of the Joint Management Board Scotland Office and OAG Member. He was appointed a CBE in 2019.

Greig Rooney has over 20 years of leadership across pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biomanufacturing, and publicly traded companies. He is a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and has been appointed Managing Director for Pharma and HealthTech at CPI. He previously served as Chair of the Scottish Patient Awareness Council and recently completed the University of California, Berkeley Haas CEO 2025 Program.

Appointments

The appointments are for three years and run from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028.

The appointments are regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.

Remuneration and time commitment

The appointment attracts £14,068 per annum for a time commitment of 30 days per year.

Jacqui Gale; Luke Logan; Cameron Murray; Stuart Patrick and Greig Rooney do not hold any other public appointments made by Scottish Ministers.

Political activity

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.  However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public.

Jacqui Gale; Luke Logan; Cameron Murray; Stuart Patrick and Greig Rooney have had no political activity within the last five years.

Background

Scottish Enterprise (SE) is Scotland’s national and international economic development agency. Through Our Focus on Economic Transformation, SE focuses specifically on accelerating the energy transition; scaling innovation; and boosting capital investment and works closely with regional partners including Highland and Islands Enterprise and South of Scotland Enterprise.   It has statutory powers to promote and assist economic development, enterprise and international competitiveness and to advise Scottish Ministers on all related matters.  SE has its headquarters in Glasgow and is responsible in 2025-26 for an annual budget allocation of approximately £236 million together with additional business income from its investments and property assets.
