The Cabinet Secretary for NHS Recovery, Health and Social Care, Michael Matheson MSP today announced the reappointment of Donald McPherson to Tayside NHS Board.

Member

Donald McPherson was appointed as Whistleblowing Champion member of Tayside NHS Board on 1 February 2020. This two month reappointment has been approved to provide continuity for the Board while the new Whistleblowing Champion receives induction training and to enable Mr McPherson to be involved in this training to share his experience of the role.

Reappointment

This reappointment will be for 2 months and will run from 1 February 2024 to 31 March 2024

This reappointment is regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.

Remuneration

This reappointment is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £18,060 for a time commitment of 2 days per week.

Donald McPherson does not hold any other public appointments.

Political activity

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.  However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public.   

Donald McPherson has had no political activity within the last five years.

NHS Tayside is responsible for meeting the health needs and improving the health and wellbeing of over 400,000 people living in Tayside, and provides a comprehensive range of primary, community-based, and acute hospital services for the populations of Angus, Dundee City and Perth & Kinross.
