The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Neil Gray MSP today announced the reappointment of Callum Blackburn as a Member of the Golden Jubilee NHS Board.
Member
Callum Blackburn is an independent consultant and has more than 20 years’ experience in developing pioneering strategies in environmental sustainability and the circular economy, and he is recognised internationally as a circular economy subject matter expert. He has held many positions in public bodies prior to the NHS Golden Jubilee. Most recently from 2013 to 2020 he was Head of Policy, Research and Evaluation at Zero Waste Scotland, responsible for overseeing a diverse range of policy development and research work on behalf of the Scottish Government. His previous roles also include managing the environmental health function at Falkirk Council and providing internal audit functions for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM) and has an MA in Economics & Accountancy and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies.
Reappointment
This reappointment will be for 2 years and will run from 01 November 2026 to 31 October 2028.
This reappointment is regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.
Remuneration
This reappointment is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £16,224 for a time commitment of 52 days per year.
