The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Neil Gray MSP today announced the extension to the appointment of Susan Douglas-Scott as Chair of the Golden Jubilee NHS Board.
Chair
Susan Douglas-Scott CBE is an experienced leader whose career spans the disability, health, public, and third sectors. She has held senior roles including CEO of national third-sector organisations, Chair of major public boards, and trustee positions in national charities. Since 2018 she has chaired NHS Golden Jubilee, and in 2025 became Chair of the interim National Care Service Advisory Board, reflecting her commitment to inclusive, transformative health and social care. Her leadership is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep belief in people. As a disabled woman and part of Scotland’s vibrant LGBTQI community, she has long campaigned for equality and always champions fairness and authentic inclusion.
Reappointment
This extension will be for 9 months and will run from 4 April 2026 to 31 December 2026.
This extension is regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.
Remuneration
This reappointment is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £56,472 for a time commitment of 3 days per week.
