Public appointment: Chair appointment extended on the Care Inspectorate Board

The Minister for Community Care Alison Thewliss MSP, today announced the extension to the appointment of as Chair of the Care Inspectorate Board.

 

Chair

Douglas Moodie brings extensive knowledge of the sector, passion and enormous commitment to driving change for the benefit of all citizens in Scotland. He will continue to lead the Board through a period of significant change and opportunity whilst that the core values of Care Inspectorate and it aimed objectives remain steadfast at all times.

 

Extension

This extension will be for 6 months and will run from 1 September 2026 and ending on 28 February 2027.

This extension is regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.

 

Remuneration

This extension is part-time and attracts a remuneration of £305.50 a day for a time commitment of 156 days per year.

 

Other ministerial appointments

Douglas Moodie will commit up to 3 days per week to the Chair role, and up to a further 52 days per year as a Board member of both Healthcare Improvement Scotland and the Scottish Social Services Council.

 

Political activity

All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process.  However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity within the last five years (if there is any to be declared) to be made public. 

Douglas Moodie has had no political activity within the last five years.
