Milngavie and Bearsden Mens Shed: acknowledgement letter

Letter to Milngavie and Bearsden Mens Shed in response to their appeal to Scottish ministers.


Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, Part 5: Asset Transfer Requests – Appeal of Decision of the Local Authority to Scottish Ministers. 

Dear Mr Livingstone, 

Thank you for your appeal, and accompanying documents which were received by the Scottish Government on 14 November 2025, requesting an appeal of the decision made by East Dunbartonshire Council to refuse the request made by Milngavie and Bearsden Mens Shed to lease the former Park Keepers Flat, King George V Park, Borland Road, Bearsden, Glasgow G61 2NE under Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, which concerns Asset Transfer Requests. 

An appeal under Section 88 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 has been made in writing in accordance with The Asset Transfer Request (Appeals) (Scotland) Regulations 2016 by Milngavie and Bearsden Mens Shed, The Pagoda, King George V park, Borland Road, Bearsden, G61 2NE. 

This letter acknowledges receipt of your appeal on behalf of Milngavie and Bearsden Mens Shed. We will make a copy of the appeal documentation available on the Scottish Government website, and notify you when this has been done. I have attached a link to the guidance which outlines the appeal process in more detail.
