Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, Part 5: Asset Transfer Requests – appeal of decision of the local authority to Scottish ministers

Dear Lesley McCranor, 

Thank you for your appeal, and accompanying documents which were received by the Scottish Government on 26 June 2025, requesting an appeal of the decision made by South Lanarkshire Council to refuse the request made by Healthy Valleys to lease McClymont House, 1 Smiddy Court, Lanark, ML11 7NZ under Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, which concerns Asset Transfer Requests. 

An appeal under Section 85 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 has been made in writing in accordance with The Asset Transfer Request (Appeals) (Scotland) Regulations 2016 by c/o Healthy Valleys, Gear Up, Caldwellside Industrial Estate, unit 2a, Block 2, 5 Young Road Lanark, ML11 7SR. 

This letter acknowledges receipt of your appeal on behalf of Healthy Valleys. We will make a copy of the appeal documentation available on the Scottish Government website, and notify you when this has been done. I have attached a link to the guidance which outlines the appeal process in more detail.
