Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, Part 5: Asset Transfer Requests – Appeal of Decision of the Local Authority to Scottish Ministers

Dear Mr McGlynn,

Thank you for your appeal, and accompanying documents which were received by the Scottish Government on 10 May 2022, requesting an appeal of the decision made by South Lanarkshire Council regarding the request made by Blantyre Soccer Academy to purchase the Jock Stein Centre, Hillhouse Road, Hamilton, ML3 9TB, under Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, which concern Asset Transfer Requests.

An application for appeal under Section 88 (2) of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 has been made in writing in accordance with The Asset Transfer Request (Appeals) (Scotland) Regulations 2016 from Blantyre Soccer Academy, The Hub, Birch Place, Blantyre, Glasgow, G72 9PL.

This letter acknowledges receipt of your appeal request on behalf of Blantyre Soccer Acedemy. We will make a copy of the appeal documentation available on the Scottish Government website, and notify you when this has been done. We have published guidance which outlines the appeal process in more detail.
